(último) diário de bordo - excertos inesquecíveis III

"... and I would like to ask you, as best as I can, dear Sir, to have patience towards everything that is unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms or like books that are written in a remote foreign language. Do not search now for answers that cannot be given to you because you would not be able to live them. And everything has to be lived. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually live your way, without noticing, into the answer some day. Perhaps indeed you have the capacity to educate and develop others as an especially happy and pure way of life; train yourself for this - but accept what comes in great trust, and as long as it comes from your will or from some innermost need, take it on yourself and hate nothing. Sex is difficult, yes. But it is a difficulty that is imposed on us; almost everything serious is difficult, and everything is serious. If you can only recognise that and manage to attain a relationship to sex that is entirely your own (not influenced by convention and custom) from your own inner disposition and nature, your experience and childhood and strength, then you will no longer have to fear losing yourself and becoming unworthy of your greatest possession.
Bodily pleasure is a sensual experience that is no different from pure looking or the pure sensation with which a beautiful fruit fills the tongue; it is great, infinite experience that is given to us, a knowledge of the world, the wealth and splendour of all knowledge."

Rainer Maria Rilke in Letters to a Young Poet

(Excerto retirado de uma das minhas 'cartas' preferidas, a carta de 16 de Julho de 1903. Uma boa maneira de fechar estes diários de férias, pareceu-me.)
